FC Isle of Man manager Paul Jones says his side showed 'mental resilience' as they held off a late onslaught from Irlam to come home with a win last night.
The Island side claimed their first victory of the new season on Tuesday evening as goals from Jack McVey, Sam Baines and Sean Doyle saw them overcome the Manchester-based side 3-1 at the RG3 Digital Stadium.
The Ravens' were put under pressure in the second half as the Salford team pulled a goal back in the final 15 minutes, however it was not enough to deny the Manx outfit victory.
Jones was full of praise for his side, especially for Alex Maitland who the manager said had 'one of his best displays in our shirt':
