Manx cyclist Peter Kennaugh and Great Britain team mate Adam Blythe yesterday claimed the under-25 race at the Ghent Six-Day.
It's the first time a British team has won the supporting event in six years of travelling to Belgium.
The two 18 year olds took the lead on the opening night before slipping to second place after Wednesday's session. However on Saturday the duo launched an attack and gained a lap on the Belgian leaders to reclaim top spot, and on Sunday they defended their lead from opponents up to six years their senior.
Mark Cavendish and Bradley Wiggins, racing together for the first time ahead of an expected assault on a gold medal at the Beijing Olympics, struggled from the first night and ended the meeting tenth overall.
