Twenty two year old record smashed
A long standing cycling record on the Island has at last been broken.
Peter Kennaugh has this morning (Sun 27th) smashed cycling legend Chris Boardman's time of 1 hour 23 minutes and 54 seconds for a lap of the TT course, which has stood since 1993
On the Mountain Course Time Trial today Kennaugh clocked 1 hour 23 minutes and 48 seconds, six seconds inside Boardman's time.
He should also be somewhat better off for his efforts; for several years local supermarket Shoprite has offered a £3,000 prize for anyone who could break the record.
