Initative extended by 24 hours due to high demand
A local secondary school has helped raise more than £2,000 for the Friends of Noble’s Hospital by taking on a 5K challenge.
Students and staff at King William’s College ran 5km (3.1 miles), donating £5 after completing the distance.
Two-hundred and eighty-eight entrants from eight different countries took part, including former KWC pupils – reaching a total combined distance of 1,730 kilometres.
Runs were recorded through run trackers and selfies, with some participants including staff and parents going head to head in the KWC House Runathon.
The scheme surpassed the initial target of £1,000 to more than £2,300 for the Island charity.
Director of Sport at King William’s College, Bernie Dunn said he's “delighted with everyone’s efforts and the fantastic amount raised.”
