David Knight finally got the momentum back into his Can-Am Grand National Cross Country campaign, as the defending series champion captured the GEICO Mountain Ridge GNCC in Somerset, Pennsylvania, yesterday.
Knight edged the winner of the previous round, FMF Suzuki's Josh Strang by just over a minute, with fellow Red Bull KTM rider Nathan Kanney grabbing a podium finish with third.
The Ballaugh rider led the whole day, but Strang had to battle Kanney hard for the second spot.
Knight had gone three rounds without a win after winning four of the first five, but yesterday's victory extended his lead at the top of the overall standings to 42 points.
The next race of the series is something of an anomoly, taking place in the ski resort of Snowshoe in West Virginia and involving an "in-town" live engine start.
But there's a bit of a wait for Knight to build on his latest success as the Moose Racing Snowshoe doesn't take place until September 12th and 13th.
