Local footballer raises funds for those who saved his life

Jack Townsend suffered a brain haemorrhage last year

One of the Island's up and coming footballers is raising money for the people who saved his life after he suffered a brain haemorrhage.

Jack Townsend collapsed in his local gym in September last year.

After being rushed to Noble's, where doctors discovered a rare brain abnormality, Welsh Coastguards transported him to Liverpool for life-saving surgery.

Since then, he's been recovering at The Walton Centre, having to re-learn all movement from scratch but with determination and therapists' help, he says he's getting there.

Jack is now using his time in rehab to raise money for Noble's Hospital, The Welsh Coastguard and The Walton Centre to thank them for the incredible work they did in making sure he got the treatment he needed.

He's already exceeded his £4000 target and is currently on more £8,500.

If you would like to donate to Jack's cause, you can do so here.
