Rider thankful for support after incident last month
Road racer, David Johnson says he has a 'long road to recovery' still ahead of him following a crash at last month's Classic TT.
The Australian says he remains in hospital in Liverpool and has had two successful operations following an incident in the Historic Classic Senior race on Monday, 24 August.
In an update to followers on social media, Johnson says the incident was caused by a rear inner tube bursting and that there was 'no one to blame, not myself, nor the team' for what happened.
Meanwhile, the competitor is thanking people for all of their well wishes to him over the last few weeks, adding 'I couldn't be more thankful for your love and support.'
Johnson also says he intends to recover and 'arrive formidably ready' for the 2027 race season.
