A Liberal Vannin candidate in next month's general election says he decided to stand for the party because he believes the Isle of Man needs party politics.
Chris Thomas, a financial analyst and university lecturer, is contesting the two-seat constituency of West Douglas, and was appointed economics and business spokesman for the LVP in June.
On Manx Radio's Talking Heads, Mr Thomas explained why he thought there needed to be an 'opposition' in the House of Keys (listen to audio file below):
There are four other candidates in West Douglas so far, namely sitting members Geoff Corkish and John Shimmin, and challengers Martin Moore and John Skinner.
The general election is on Thursday, September 29.
