
Just under 40 Manx runners are competing in today's (Sunday) Virgin London Marathon.
Memories of last week's tragic events in Boston will be fresh in people's minds and competitors will be wearing black armbands or ribbons.
The contingent from here includes the Island's fastest marathon runner Ed Gumbley, the quickest in London Mike Garrett, Richard Radcliffe and Paul Curphey who are aiming for their 20th finishes - as well as others trying to raise money for charity and a sense of personal achievement.
