The father of cycling star Mark Cavendish says his son is grateful for the ongoing support he receives from the Manx public.
After three weeks, 21 stages and 3,333 kilometres, the 'Manx missile' won the sprinters' green jersey in the Tour of Spain on Sunday, becoming only the second British rider to secure a sprint title in one of the top three stage races.
Cavendish will now turn his attention to the World Road Race Championships in Melbourne, before joining the Isle of Man Commonwealth Games team in India.
