He will travel to Turkey and Rwanda
A Manx cyclist will leave the Island today to participate in cycling events in Turkey and Rwanda.
Sam Brand is expected to be away for three weeks - as he takes on the Tour of Antalya and Tour of Rwanda respectively before returning to compete in the Commonwealth Games.
Although he was diagnosed with type one diabetes at the age of 10, he did not let his illness deter him. Sam participates in a number of cycling events and he is expected to be part of the Commonwealth Games.
He told Beth Espey these are the first races of the season:
Hockey: Mixed results for IoM at county championships
TT 2026: Manx duo to lead Flitwick Motorcycles Sportbike charge
Rugby: Douglas beat Wilmslow to claim Cheshire Vase
Football: Eight progress to Cowell Cup quarter-finals
