Island athletes start strong in Aland
There's been early success for the Isle of Man's gymnasts during the opening day of competition at the Inter Island Gymnastics Competition in Aland.
Nine of the 23-strong squad secured medals this morning (5 July) in the junior events at the competition which is running until Sunday (8 July).
In the boys squad, there were four gold medals and a bronze for Josh Clarkson; three silvers and a bronze for Rory Hughes; One gold, one silver and four bronze for Max Cairnie whilst Thomas Lamb also bagged a gold medal.
Meanwhile, in the girls team there were gold medals for Alice Teare and Holly Watt whilst Lacey Jackson secured three silver and Lily Bosendorfer managed to win two bronze.
Both the boys and girls teams also took gold in the junior categories.
