The Isle of Man will be sending a team to the Special Olympic World Summer Games in Athens later this month, thanks to the generosity of the Manx public, businesses and organisations.
It had been touch and go for a while, because of the prohibitive cost of competing, but fundraising efforts and donations mean a team of 27 athletes will be going to the games.
It's a major event, with around 7,500 athletes from over 180 countries taking part in 21 different sports.
The Manx squad will leave for Greece on June 19 and return on Tynwald Day, making it one of the longest trips they have organised.
Head of delegation Beryl Wooldridge says, "It has been a huge effort to collect the funds required to send the squad over this year but our supporters on the island have really come up trumps and managed to raise the finance we need.
"Whilst we are not out of the woods yet we are confident that the funding will now be available for this trip."
