Tom Mazzone just misses out on a top ten finish
Cyclist Tom Mazzone narrowly missed out on a place in the top ten in the Rutland-Melton International CiCLE Classic as three Manx riders finished in the top 30.
American Colin Joyce was the eventual winner of one of the biggest one-day event in the UK, with a time of 5:10:20.
The route saw competitors take on some of the most challenging on and off-road sections that Leicestershire has to offer.
Mazzone and brother Leon - who both ride for the Spirit-Tifosi outfit - joined Zappi Pro Cycling man Nathan Draper as the Manx trio were involved in a front group comprising around 35 riders as the race entered its closing stages.
In a final dash for victory in the 200km UCI event, Tom Mazzone sprinted to an impressive 13th place finish, while Leon held on for 26th.
A courageous ride from Draper saw him just three places down on Leon in 29th.
Well, that was fun! @CiCLEClassic done for another year. 200 kilometres of crazy racing as always but strangely really enjoyable.

Happy enough to come away with 13th on the day but still slightly disappointed as there was potential for more.https://t.co/Tzv8hM21OR pic.twitter.com/fb6cPBKJrJ
