Rider broke two ribs in crash at Ghent Six Day
Mark Cavendish's team says the cyclist broke two ribs on his left side in a crash during the Ghent Six Day event at the weekend.
He was competing in the Madison when he came off his bike - the Manx Missile was taken to hospital and kept in overnight.
Deceuninck-Quickstep say he also has a small pneumothorax or collapsed lung
The team expects him to released from hospital either today or tomorrow morning - he will then have a period of recuperation.
