After four years of trying, Matt Clinton from the West Midlands has won the Manx Telecom End to End Mountain Bike Challenge.
In muddy and wet conditions, he finished the 75 kilometre course nearly three minutes ahead of Lonan’s Ed Perry with defending champion Elliot Baxter in third.
Another Manxman, Nick Corlett, was the first under-23 competitor home in fourth place with four-time winner Nick Craig in fifth.
After the event, Matt admitted he was determined to make up for last year’s disappointment.
Tim Glover saw him cross the finish line.
