MGP 26: A new Quayle set for the start line

There's set to be a new Quayle on the start line for the 2026 Manx Grand Prix.

Illiam, son of former racer and now TT Rider Liaison Officer Richard 'Milky' Quayle, has been confirmed to debut for ILR at the event.

Racing for Ian Lougher's team, the 22-year-old will run at Scarborough meetings, the North West 200 and MGP aboard Paton and Honda CBR600RR machinery.

He'll make his first appearance in August later this year.

Illiam has been racing on two-wheels since the age of 10 in Mini Moto Racing and won the Isle of Man Mini Moto Championship in 2014 aged 11. 

He then won the Isle of Man Pit Bike Championship in 2016, which progressed him into competing in the British Pit Bike Championship in 2017 where he finished third. 

In 2018, Illiam moved to racing on to bigger circuits where he finished seventh in the 'prestigious' Super Teens Championship. 

The following year, he moved to the No Limits series as he competed on a 'larger' twin and won the title with a round left. 

Covid-19 then derailed the 22-year-old's progress, however, he signed with Manx Legend Racing for the end of the 2023 season which saw podium finishes in the local 600cc Championship. 

Illiam stayed with the team for 2024, and stepped up to 1000cc machinery in the No Limits Super Series where he secured another result on the podium. 

He then competed in a one off  BMW F900 Cup which saw Illiam land a first podium finish in the British Super Bike Paddock. 

However, a struggling 2025 saw him split from Manx Legend Racing at the conclusion of the season.
