Successful hosting at Castle Rushen
After another successful running of a sports initiative at an Island high school, organisers hope to introduce it elsewhere.
The recent sports taster day at Castle Rushen, now in its eighth year, gave the school's new Year 7 pupils the chance to try badminton, golf, hockey, judo, netball and rugby.
The day is organised by Manx Sport and Recreation, along with clubs from each sport.
The aim is to show the children the benefits of such activities, as well as helping to break the ice with their new fellow students.
Senior Sports Development Officer Aaron Quinn says MSR has been working with Ramsey Grammar School, with the plan being to introduce something similar there:

Athletics: Island trio impresses on world race walking stage
Sidecars excluded from Southern 100
Football: Draw made for 2026 Paul Henry Gold Cup
Jamie Coward happy with progress so far on TT return
Franco Bourne planning TT return after missing debut
