
Gary Wilson and Julian Sutton, who have both won the Isle of Man Golf title eight times, were knocked out of the 2012 Championship at Rowany last night.
Wilson was beaten by Paul Lowey 5 and 3 while Sutton was defeated by Herman Loubser on the 18th hole.
Elsewhere, Kevin Moore saw off the challenge of Richard Gault 3 and 2, Peter Glover enjoyed a convincing 6 and 5 victory over Richard Skillicorn, Daryl Callister recorded a 4 and 3 success against Gerald Bradley, Tom Harris went through 3 and 1 against Liam Cowin, Jason Watterson beat Ged Power 2 and 1....and Tom Gandy won a close contest against Jonathon Corke by 1 hole.
In this evening's quarter-finals which start at 4.30pm, Paul Lowey meets Kevin Moore, Herman Loubser faces Peter Glover, Daryl Callister tackles Tom Harris and Jason Watterson is up against Tom Gandy.
