Hoylake avoided relegation from South Lancashire /Cheshire Division One when they beat Douglas in a tight 26-24 win.
Mark Shortland's first half try, plus a conversion and penalty from Bryn Snellgrove, gave Douglas a 10-7 half-time lead.
Hoylake hit back in the second half and, despite two tries from Will Keenan, both converted by Snellgrove, they clung on for the win which sent Manchester Medics into Division Two.
