Manx footballer tipped for another big season
Liam Doyle has been named as one of the ten USL Championship 'defenders to watch' during the upcoming season.
The article on the USL's official website says the 26-year-old Manxman impressed for Nashville SC during 2018, the club's inaugural season, and proved to be extremely reliable at the heart of the second-best defence in the league.
He played more minutes than any other outfield player at Nashville, and led them in clearances (222) and blocked shots (29).
It's felt another big season could see Doyle make the jump to Major League Soccer along with the club in 2020.
The USL is the second tier of football in the United States.
