Island side edge out Gibraltar in entertaining contest
The Manx Rams have taken their first win of the europe netball world cup qualifiers in Glasgow this afternoon with a 44-33 win over Gibraltar.
The Island side were facing a Gibraltar side who they narrowly lost to at the NSC back in May.
Both nations came into day three of the qualifiers still searching for their first win of the series.
Today's match-up was an equally even contest in the opening stages as both sides took time to find a clinical edge in front of goal.
The Rams then started to find their rhythm at the attacking end to take a 19-10 lead after the first two quarters.
Gibraltar responded well in the second half of the contest as they attempted to close the points gap.
However, the Island squad kept their standards high and held onto their points cushion well to see out the contest to take the win.
The Isle of Man's next match in the world cup qualifiers in Glasgow is against the Republic of Ireland which takes place tomorrow at 12pm.
The match is being livestreamed by Netball Scotland.
