Island side took part in curtain raiser of world cup qualifiers
The Manx Rams put in a brave display in their first Europe netball world cup qualifier despite losing 78-22 against a high-class Wales side this afternoon.
The Island side competed in the curtain raiser for the qualifiers at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow earlier against a Wales side who are eighth in the world netball rankings.
The Isle of Man squad competed well in the first two quarters but spurned some key chances with Wales leading 40-11 at the halfway point.
That didn't deter the Isle of Man players who battled the odds to put away several more goals in the third and fourth quarters with the score 78-22 to Wales come full-time.
The Manx Rams next match in the qualifiers is tomorrow (13 October) - they'll face the home side Scotland at 5pm.
