Interest in the sport is growing
A number of new teams could be formed ahead of the next Manx basketball season, according to the Isle of Man Basketball Association (IOMBBA).
Both a men's and women's teams were away in Gibraltar representing the Isle of Man at the recent Island Games.
The men finished fifth, while the women narrowly missed out on a medal, ending up behind Menorca, Gotland and the host nation who were third.
Publicity officer for the IOMBBA Martin Dunne believes that has been a real boost for the sport; with work currently ongoing behind the scenes to increase the level of participation heading into the forthcoming campaign.
