Now Playing Michael Mcdonald I Keep Forgettin' (Every Time You're Near)

No surprises as hockey season opens

Reigning champions Bacchas A launched their defence of the Wi-Manx Mixed Premier Division comfortably on Saturday.

Goals from Johnny Callow (two), Jamie Brown and Alex Bell sealed a 4-0 win over Valkyrs B.

A team tipped to be title contenders again, Vikings A, saw off Ramsey A 6-1.

The strike partnership of Connor Byrne and Andy Harding proved pivotal.

Harding was the star of the show as he hit a hat-trick and Byrne grabbed one.

Steven Crowe and Sarah Breen netted the others with Pete Richardson notching the northerners’ consolation.

Celts were 12-1 winners over newly promoted Saracens Sabres.

Doubles from Paul Kelly, Christian Steriopolous, Hannah Leece, Sven Lindeque and Mark Bratt, plus one apiece from Eleanor Gawne and Steven Ronan, saw off an understrength Sabres.

Steve Cottier scored their goal with a penalty flick.
