He beat Thom Whiteway 3-1 in the final
Island number one Dave Norman lifted the first trophy of the 2019 squash season as he overcame Thom Whiteway 3-1 in the final of the Elite Tournament.
With straight sets victories over Calum Baker, Rob Boyles and Hamish Thornton, Norman progressed to the final without dropping a single game.
His opponent in the decider at the NSC was national team captain Whiteway, who was pushed all the way in a five-set thriller in his semi-final with third seed Jason Blue.
It was a stretch too far for Whiteway as he battled it out on court with Norman in the showpiece match, however, with the favourite winning 11-4, 11-5, 6-11, 11-5.
