Island rider confirms broken ankle after Superstock crash

Isle of Man motorcycle racer, Grant Thomson has been ruled out of the remainder of this year's North West 200 due to injury.

The Island competitor has confirmed he suffered a broken ankle after a crash in Superstock qualifying on Thursday evening (7 May).

The Pre-TT Classic and Southern 100 winner is thanking his team, his family and friends for their support , adding he will 'come back stronger' but that it will 'take a bit of time' to get back to full fitness.

This year, Thomson was one of two Isle of Man debutants at the event in Northern Ireland alongside Illiam Quayle.

Separately, Quayle was deemed ineligible to start qualifying after being adjudged to have not fulfilled enough newcomer practice laps.
