Wayne Hamilton lived up to his pre-race favourite billing by taking victory in the opening race of the Manx Grand Prix this evening (Saturday).
The 20 year-old Northern Irishman produced a commanding performance to win the Newcomers A race, finishing 20 seconds ahead of William Davison and David Kennington.
After the race, Hamilton told Chris Kinley he was never taking anything for granted.
Gavin Lupton was also a clear winner in the Newcomers B race, ahead of Scott Smyth and Wayne Axon.
Over 50 riders entered the two classes to gain their first experience of road racing on the Isle of Man.
Racing resumes on Monday.
