Manx shooter tops the pile
A perfect round from Neil Parsons saw him crowned English Open Skeet champion at the weekend.
The Manxman was the only one out of more than 220 competitors to score 100 straight at Doveridge, Derbyshire, as he topped the billing.
In what was an extremely close event, Parsons pipped some notable shooters to the top prize, taking high gun honours ahead of former British champion Andy Parsons who finished in second.
Neil told Manx Radio Sport it was a pleasant surprise to take the win, considering skeet is not his favoured discipline:
Five other Islanders were competing in the event, with Stan Cross (94), Madeline Simpson (94), Rachael Bowen-Matthews (92) and juniors Michael Cross and Ted Davis (both 91) also involved.
