
There were wins in the Standard Bank Blincoe Cup for Valkyres, Crosby B and Peel.
Peel bowled out Finch Hill for 76 with Phil Littlejohns taking 3 wickets for one run and Russell Miller two wickets for no runs. James Seed and Greg Miller than took the westerners to victory in only eight overs.
Crosby had a comfortable seven wicket win over Loaghtyn. The Rams reached 100 for 8 and the Marown side raced to 104 for 3. Chris Shimmin cracked 46.
Valkyres’ Abdul Khan claimed three for three as Grasshoppers were dismissed for 66. Ali Ansari (25) and Paul Fleming (22) helped the southerners reach their target with few problems.
Grasshoppers did much better in the Twenty20 Division Three game against Finch Hill. Their dashing opener Simon Clarke led the way by stroking a sparkling 35 out of the Jurby total of 126.The Douglas team ended on 96 to give the Hoppers their first points of the season.
