Peel overcame the spirited challenge of Castletown to progress to the first round of the Cu-Plas FA Cup on Saturday.
An early goal from Kerron Christian and an impressive second from Juan Killip on the stroke of half-time - direct from a corner – sealed the westerners’ passage at a blustery Douglas Road.
However, the tie was marred by a serious injury inside the opening 20 minutes to Castletown midfielder Ashley Sansbury.
He sustained a suspected broken leg and compound fracture.
Sansbury was taken to Noble’s Hospital and both clubs wish him a speedy recovery.
Peel’s John Kelly was dismissed for the rash challenge.
