June event cancelled due to Covid-19
Anyone considering tackling the Parish Walk route this month, despite the event being cancelled, is being urged to reconsider.
The Parish Walk Committee and the police say they've been made aware that some people are wanting to do so, and that neither body would endorse such a thing.
According to the committee, it's an event which requires many months of planning as well as risk assessments, traffic management, speed restrictions, extensive marshalling, police patrols and signage across the 85-mile route.
The 2020 Parish had been due to take place on the weekend of 20 and 21 June, but was cancelled in late March because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
