Northerners reach plate final
Ramsey’s second team joined the firsts in a knockout final when they beat Castletown 38-17 in the Shimmin Wilson Manx Plate.
First half tries from James Wren, Juan Callister, Tom Atherton and Nathan Thompson, plus three Chris Clague conversions, gave Ramsey a 26-0 lead at the break.
Dave Akkulugadu pulled one back for Town early in the second half, but Ramsey hit back via Greg Radcliffe.
Two Mark Oldfield tries for Town had Ramsey twitching in the closing stages but skipper Wren settled the nerves with his second of the match, which Radcliffe converted.
The first team are already in the final of the Manx Cup.
