First league meeting in nearly three years
Ramsey beat Vagabonds 34-12 at Ballafletcher to clinch maximum points in the first local league derby for several years when they met in Lancs/Cheshire Division 3.
Ramsey Skipper Henry Swithinbank crossed for the opening score in just the second minute. Matt Rockwell burrowed in for Vagas’ equaliser shortly afterwards but from that point on the traffic was heading in the other direction.
John F Watling burst over for Ramsey midway through the first half and just before the break Ben Harding capitalised when Vagas failed to clear their lines.
A Scott Kneale conversion saw Ramsey lead 17-5 at the interval. Kneale then scored early in the second half to give Ramsey a try bonus point before a Harri Radford brace made the game safe at 34-5.
Rob Pease scored a late consolation for Vagas with Cam Inglis converting with the final kick of the game.
