Island resident's achievements honoured
Island resident and double World Superbike champion Jonathan Rea was one of the the stars at the recent FIM Gala ceremony in Berlin.
Rea, who lives in Castletown, was there to be presented with his medal in front of an audience of world champions, after the 2016 season saw him become the first winner of back-to-back WorldSBK titles this millennium.
Alongside Rea on the red carpet and up on stage to receive his medal was 2016 Supersport World Champion Kenan Sofuoglu, who claimed his fifth title at that level.
Among the many others present were MotoGP champion Marc Marquez, who also took his fifth world title, Moto2 winner Johann Zarco and reigning Moto3 champion Brad Binder.
