It looks like the wrist injury World Superbike rider Jonathan Rea sustained in Italy last weekend will put him out for longer than expected.
The Castletown resident, who rides for Castrol Honda, had an operation to repair a broken radius yesterday.
But during the op its was discovered more damage had been done to the wrist than first thought, including to his ligaments.
On his Twitter page Rea said he'd also had screws and external pins put in it, adding it's all repaired but that it will be a long road to recovery.
