Fourth-place finish in Jerez secures title
Jonathan Rea has been crowned Superbike World Champion.
The Castletown resident has dominated the season and wrapped up the title with a fourth-place finish in the opening race at Jerez, Spain, this morning.
It's his first World Superbike championship.
He also becomes the first Northern Irishman to win a motorcycle world championship for almost thirty years.
Joey Dunlop and Brian Reid claimed the Formula One and Two world titles respectively in 1986.
