Kamil Holan died following incident in qualifying yesterday (7 May)
A rider who died following an incident during qualifying at the North West 200 yesterday (7 May) has now been named.
Officials have confirmed 48-year-old Kamil Holan was involved in an incident at Station corner during a Superbike qualifying session on Thursday morning.
Emergency services attending the scene but the rider succumbed to his injuries.
The competitor from the Czech Republic was not initially named at the request of his family, however, event officials have now announced permission has now been given by his relatives to be identified.
Organisers of the meeting, the Coleraine and District Motor Club, are offering their 'sincere condolences' to the family and friends of Mr Holan at this time whilst tributes are being paid across the motorsport community.
