Club progressing with plans at both junior and senior level
Douglas Rugby Club says it's 'ambitious' in promoting the sport further as the new season fast approaches.
The club's pre-season preparations are well underway with plans to reintroduce a second team for the new campaign alongside the first team's commitments in the Regional 2 North West.
Head Coach Phil Cringle recognises the sport here and elsewhere is facing challenges with recruitment.
But he and Douglas' new Rugby Development Officer Harry Cartwright explain there are different ways in which they're trying to improve this at both junior and senior level:
Football: Plans to launch new walking football league
Hockey: 2026 cup finals weekend getting underway tonight
Rugby: Three Island sides involved in season finales this weekend
