One friendly on Island as prep for new season continues
Report by Dave Christian:
A modest offering this week, with everyone suffering from World Cup absences.
After a home defeat by Waterloo last Saturday, Douglas head north to Kirby Lonsdale for their first road trip of the season.
Lonsdale were slammed 46-12 away at Crewe & Nantwich last Saturday after being relegated from the Regional 1 North West last season where they lost 22 from 22 and conceded an average of 73 points per game.
Its a little too early to work out whether they're in free-fall and likely to drop further or whether they've found a sustainable level.
Douglas were encouraging in places last week and a few rough edges smoothed off in training may just allow them to collect some away points.
Domestic Friendly
Domestically things are a little slow however this isn't unusual at this stage of the season.
There is one friendly fixture taking place on Saturday and its part of Southern Nomads Cheshire Bowl preparation
Nomads will face an IOM Barbarians side at Ballakilley Park.
