Patreece Bell makes maiden league appearance against Bristol Bears
An up-and-coming rugby talent from the Isle of Man has made his debut in the Gallagher Premiership.
Former Southern Nomads and Castle Rushen High School competitor, Patreece Bell was used as a second-half substitute for Sale Sharks during the team's encounter with Bristol Bears on Friday, 2 January.
In a closely-fought contest, Sharks went on to narrowly lose the contest by a 19-17 scoreline, which saw them secure a losing bonus point.
Also involved during the game was 2023 Isle of Man Sportsman of the Year, Bevan Rodd, who was named in the starting XV before making way for Si McIntyre in the 60th minute.
Elsewhere, whilst it was Bell's maiden appearance in the league, he made his overall senior debut for the Sale Sharks' first team in February last year as the team narrowly beat Newcastle Falcons in the Premiership Rugby Cup.
Back in 2024, Bell also represented Ireland in the Under-20 Six Nations, finishing second behind England.
