St Mary’s gain revenge
A Mike Williams hat-trick inspired Rushen to a 4-1 success over Old Boys in the Canada Life Premier League on Saturday.
His treble, including one from the penalty spot, and a Jack Saxon spot-kick sealed the points after a close first half at Croit Lowey.
Callum Stewart had hauled Old Boys level just before the break but the visitors were not able to find another way past the impressive home goalkeeper Dean Kearns.
St Mary’s gained revenge for an earlier season hammering at Douglas Athletic.
The Saints were stunned 6-0 by Athletic in October.
But they were more like themselves at the Bowl as a Stephen Priestnal hat-trick inspired a 4-0 win at the Bowl.
Livewire Priestnal opened the scoring midway through the first half and it remained tight until the closing 15 minutes when the hosts took charge with Brian Crellin and then two quick fire goals from Priestnal securing a comprehensive victory.
