Southern side secure title after close battle with Douglas Royal
Rushen United have been crowned this year's Ascot Hotel & Restaurant Junior Cup winners.
They were made to work for the result as they secured a narrow 2-1 victory over Douglas Royal at The Bowl in Douglas last night (30 June).
Rushen took the lead through Jamie Cadwallader after 45 minutes and then doubled their advantage on 48 minutes through Jordan Watterson.
Douglas Royal did manage to claw a goal back late on in the third minute of added time in the second half.
In the previous round, Rushen United overcame RYCOB 4-2 after extra time whilst Douglas Royal had reached the final after defeating Peel 3-2 in normal time.
