Rutter racing family to be celebrated at TT 2024

Corner to be named in their honour alongside celebration lap

The racing legacy of the Rutter family is set to be celebrated at this year's Isle of Man TT Races.

A parade lap to mark the achievements and careers of seven-time TT winner Michael Rutter and his late father - seven-time winner Tony Rutter - will take place on Wednesday, 5 June.

Furthermore the corner on the Snaefell Mountain Course known as 'Glen Helen 1' will be renamed 'Rutters'' in their collective honour.

With a combined 170 TT starts and 38 podiums between the father and son duo, 2024 also marks 30 years since Michael made his debut at the event.

'The Rutter Legacy Lap' will see Michael riding one of Tony's Ducati machines whilst a second Ducati as well as a Yamaha TZ350 - with which Tony became synonymous - will also be present.

Meanwhile, Michael's achievements will be celebrated by Phillip McCallen, John McGuinness MBE and Ian Simpson who will be riding bike's from Michael's junior career including the Honda RC213V-S MotoGP-derived racer.

Rutter himself is describing having a corner named after his family as a 'real shock to have this honour bestowed upon the family', adding 'it's more of an honour and tribute to my dad as I see him having achieved more than me in his career.'
