Young middle-distance runner to use £1,000 grant to compete at Orkney Island Games
The first recipient of the Manx Telecom Parish Walk's new Emerging Athlete Award is Sam Perry
The 18-year-old runner, who specialises in the 800m and 1,500m, will use the £1,000 grant to support his trip to the Orkney Island Games this month.
The award recognises young, local athletics talent across all disciplines and supports costs such as coaching, travel, and equipment.
Organisers say Perry’s dedication makes him a deserving winner, and they wish him luck at the Games.
