An electric 51 from Ollie Webster powered the Island Select to victory in the annual Standard Bank Manx Challenge yesterday.
Last season's champions Castletown racked up a decent 161, with Christian Steriopulos cracking 42 not out and Wicus Wessels in fine form making 41.
Pick of the Island's bowlers was Arne van der Berg who took 1-11 off eight very tight overs.
Nick Hawke had 2-36 and a great spell from Alex Stokoe saw the young Cronkbourne player finish with 3-19.
Needing to score at a rate of four an over, the Select XI stormed out of the blocks with a great opening stand.
Webster dominated play with some fine strokes, hitting six fours and one six before being dismissed.
He was ably assisted by Peter Lewis, who batted sensibly for a classy 36.
And it was left to the St John's pair of Jon Norrington and Greg Hawke to guide the side home with overs to spare, finishing on eleven and 20 not out respectively.
The four Island wickets were claimed by John Short, who returned 2-17, and one each for Garreth Roome and Andy Sewell.
