
The Manx missile had to settle for seventh place at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award ceremony in Birmingham last night (Sunday).
Mark Cavendish polled just over 44,000 votes to poll more than six per cent of the vote.
The award was won by Grand National winner Tony McCoy - the champion jump jockey a runaway winner claiming nearly 42 per cent of the vote.
