English skeet Doubles Championship held at Meary Veg

The annual English skeet Doubles Championship was held at Meary Veg Santon over the weekend.
The leader after the first round was Gioulio Fabrizio with 24 points, in second place on 23 were Will Rand and nice to see him back, Paul Mihailovits on 23 followed by John Moore on 22.
Mihailovits was in the lead after the second round with 48 points with John Moore in second place on 47 and Michael Cross in third place on 46.
Mihailovits was still in the lead after round three on 71 points with Michael Cross in second place on 69 followed by Rob Corlett in third place on 66.
The fourth and final round saw Cross winning the championship with a perfect round of 26 to finish on 95 points, in second place on 93 was Paul Mihailovits but we had a three way shoot off for third place between Mark Riley, Jeff Corkill and Rob Corlett which Mark won with 6 points to Jeff's 5 and Robs 3 .
There was also a team event and the winners were Mark Riley and Paul Mihailovits with181 points.
Michael Cross was also the Senior winner with Paul Mihailovts taking the best veteran prize, with Rachael Bowen Matthews the leading lady and the last of the individual awards was the junior prize which went to Zac Bellhouse.

Individual: 1st M Cross 21,25,23,26=95 - 2nd P Mihailovits 23,25,23,22=93 - 3rd M Riley 21,23,22,22=88+6 - 4th J Corkill 21,21,22,24=88+5 - 5th R Corlett 21,23,22,22=88+3 - 6th J Moore 22,25,18,22=87.
Team: 1st M Riley and P Mihailovits 181 - 2nd M Cross and Bellhouse 179 - 3rd D & R Corlett 174
Next week is the third round of the SUNTERA GLOBAL Sporting league with entries closing at 10am followed by the Ballaneven Side by Side Championship at 1pm.
The Hospice Cheque is being presented between the shoots to Hospice Isle of Man
The sum raised this year was higher than last year which was £3500
