Shooting: Kirkpatrick takes the win by one

Competitor also claims high gun in fifth summer sporting league round

The fifth round of the SUNTERA GLOBAL summer sporting league was held at Meary Veg Santon with 24 competitors taking part in dry, calm conditions.

The leader after the first stand was Zac Bellhouse with a perfect eight, in equal second place on seven were Liam Kirkpartick, Kyle Brits, John Moore and Julian Ray. 

We had new leaders after stand two in Liam Kirkpartick and Rob Corlett on 14; on 13 in third place were Zac Bellhouse, John Moore, David Corlett, and Jack Clague. 

We had a three-way tie after stand three with Kirkpatrick, Bellhouse and Moore all tying on 21.

Kirkpatrick and Bellhouse were still tied for the lead after stand four on 31 points with Brits, George Davies and Peter Kelly all tying for third place on 27.

Kirkpatrick was in the lead on his own after stand five on 37 points with Bellhouse next on 36 and George Davies in third place on 32.

The sixth and last stand saw Brian Kelly take third place in C class with 34 points; second place in C class went to Irene Stockill on 35 and winning C class with 36 points was Julian Ray.

Richard Kneen was third in B class with 37 points with Peter Kelly taking second place on 38 and winning B class with 39 points was Kyle Brits.

We had a tie for third place in A Class between John Moore and George Davies on 39; in second place on 44 was junior, Zac Bellhouse but winning A class and also high gun on the day was Liam Kirkpatrick.

C Class 1^st J Ray 7,2,7,9,3,8=36, 2^nd I Stockil 6,3,5,8,5,8=35, 3rd B Kelly 3,6,5,7,6,7=32.
