Holden to compete at Junior World Cup in Germany in May
An Isle of Man athlete has been selected to represent Great Britain this summer at the International Shooting Sport Federation Junior World Cup.
Joshua Holden will appear for the nation in May this year at the prestigious event which is set to take place in Suhl, Germany.
The talented marksman, who previously secured an Island Games medal for the Isle of Man when he was just 14 years old, holds the Isle of Man record for the '10m Air Pistol Final' and continues to make a name for himself on the national stage.
British Shooting confirmed Joshua's selection this week as part of a strong GBR squad set to compete across multiple disciplines, including Olympic Skeet, Olympic Trap, Air Rifle, Air Pistol, 25m Pistol, and Rapid Fire Pistol.
Holden will compete in both the Junior Men's 10m Air Pistol Individual and the Junior Men's 10m Air Pistol Team events.
He said: “It will be an honour to wear the GB jersey and I am excited to have the opportunity to test myself against some of the best in the world."
The Manxman currently has to balance training with his medical degree but added moments like this make it 'worth it'.
